singularity of the Son is a primary hermeneutical key in Hebrews and indicates that God’s former revelation can only be fully understood through the Son. ὃν ἔθηκεν κληρονόμον πάντων God has appointed him heir of all things Ἔθηκεν is 3rd sg. aor. act. indic. of τίθημι, “appoint” (most EVV). This is the first of three rel. clauses that describe the Son. The rel. pron. ὅν is the obj. of the vb., and κληρονόμον (κληρονόμος, -ου, ὁ, heir [BDAG 548b]) is the obj. complement (T 246; Wallace 186). The
